Rybelsus (semaglutide)

What Is Rybelsus:

Rybelsus-tablet also know as semagluttide, is a prescription drug intended to help people with type 2 diabetes mellitus control their blood sugar levels. Rybelsus may be used if other diabetic drugs have been tried and failed; it should be taken in addition to diet and exercise.

Rybelsus tablets lower blood sugar (glucose) levels by increasing insulin release and decreasing glucagon secretion. This medicine might make it more difficult for the stomach to empty after eating. Rybelsus belongs to the class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists.
Rybelsus should not be used to treat type 1 diabetes.
The FDA first approved Rybelsus on September 20, 2019.

Warnings

If you suffer from insulin-dependent diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, medullary thyroid cancer in your family or yourself, or if you have multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (tumors in your glands), never use Rybelsus.
If you have any of the symptoms listed below, which could indicate a thyroid tumor: swelling or a lump in your neck; difficulty swallowing; hoarse voice; or shortness of breath, contact your doctor right away.

Prior to use this medication

If you have a semaglutide allergy, you shouldn’t use Rybelsus. Additionally, if you have:

If an individual has a personal or family background of medullary thyroid carcinoma, it means they or their relatives have been diagnosed with a specific form of thyroid cancer known as medullary thyroid carcinoma

• a stomach or intestinal disorder;
• pancreatitis;
• kidney disease;
• eye problems associated by diabetes (retinopathy).

Semaglutide induced thyroid cancer or tumors in animal experiments. Whether these consequences might manifest in humans is unknown. Find out your risk from your doctor.
It is not authorized for anyone under the age of 18 to use Rybelsus.

Rybelsus should not be taken when nursing.

How should Ryelsus be taken?

  signs of pancreatitis include intense upper abdominal pain that radiates to the back,
• nausea, whether or not vomiting, and a rapid heartbeat;
  gallbladder issues: fever,
• clay-colored feces, upper abdominal pain,
• and jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
• low blood sugar: dizziness,
• appetite, fatigue, and sweating,
• stomach cramps, vomiting, lack of appetite,
• diarrhoea (which may be watery or bloody), or jitteriness;
• kidney problems, which include swelling,
